Location 2 - The bonfire/fireworks

Considering the time when we are filming our productions, it is around bonfire night which is perfect for us to be able to get some shots of fireworks, bonfires and people messing about around the bonfire which means that we can get the footage first hand and within the time of when we should be filming.

The location that we are planning to shoot at is Lawrence Park in Thurlby which is a local village just outside of Bourne. Lawrence Park is part of the Thurlby Community Primary School. It is a large playing field where they put the bonfire in towards the far side of it so that people can fill out the rest of the playing field.

The Thurlby Fireworks is actually on bonfire night itself (5th November), they have a fireworks display, bonfire and sparklers which we wish to incorporate into our final production.

Location 1 - The Live Performance

Luckily the band had already arranged to do a gig at a local venue. The venue is Mama Liz's/Voodoo Lounge. The Voodoo Lounge (where the band is performing) is an underground venue that is full sound proofed and is attached to Mama Liz's. The Voodoo lounge in Stamford is a very small location but allows the bands that perform there to be able to get used to doing a live performance in front of people even if it is just to their friends/family. These images are from the Voodoo Lounge website of previous bands that have performed there but it shows the location and the stage set up and the lighting that the venue provide.

The band had an advertisement on the Website saying what other bands are there performing with them and telling people how much it will be for them to enter the venue on the night or in advance. This location can help towards our performance aspect of the production as the band already have the instruments, the venue already has lighting and the stage, all we need to do now is film at the live performance which we did so on the 28th October 2012.

This screen shot shows that the band invited people that they know through the social networking site Facebook. This meant that the band that the band could have people pre pay for their tickets and also publicise the bands gig. Within the description the band suggest about how the band will be dressing up in Fancy Dress Halloween costumes. We got in contact with the band to see if their faces will be seen and the band replied to say that their faces would be seen but they may have some basic face paints on. The band had organised this gig before we decided to use them as our choice of song for our music promo which was lucky as we could then film the band live and then work with them throughout the rest of what we are planning to do for the promo. We hope that with these costumes that they are wearing for their gig that we can use them in the rest of the production if it is possible to keep a link throughout the whole promo.

Stop Motion

We did some tests of how stop motions is done. We filmed/used the burst mode on a camera to take multiple photos in one go.

 

The first test that me did was each move done on burst/sports mode which worked well but the two within the test moved or me and another member from the group moved the camera or tripod. When we looked back at the footage we realised that Emily and Lucy were stood before hand for a bit and afterwards just standing still which meant that we had to edit most of it out and it became time consuming.
On test two we put it onto the same mode but did the routine all through  instead of stoping and starting so it only took 2 shots to do the full routine. This was more successful so when we come to do our stop motion part of the production we will do it in this sort of way.
